COORDINATOR’S CORNER
Welcome, one and all!!!

If you are reading this, it means you are in some way connected to the Tokyo Chapter of the Camarilla or maybe you just stumbled upon this newsletter by chance.  Either way, you should know that my congratulation go out to the Tokyo membership as a whole for making this Chapter such a huge success.  When Jeremy Ambrose and I held our first meeting in December of 2005 to discuss getting this project started, we guesstimated getting five or so players aside from him and I to join by the end of January.  If we were lucky.  As of right now, we officially have 17 members, with two more prospective and likely members waiting to join.  That is un-freaking-believable, and the success goes back to you all!!!  Word of mouth is what did the trick it seems, and your enthusiasm about this game is what convinces others to join.
Now that my thanks are out there, I guess I should go on to talk for a second about the chapter itself.  Due to our size, it should be no time at all before we become a Domain.  What does that mean for you?  Well, for starters, it means that you can pat yourselves on the back.  Not good enough?  How about considering that when we hit Domain-status, we will be the third game to do so in Japan?  Yeah, getting better huh?  Well, how about the fact that approvals will take less time given that mid-level approvals will be considered an “in-house” thing for us soon?  I knew I could sell you on something to be excited about damn it!

This month, we will be having our first actual LARP event as well.  08APR06 will be the first in-person LARP event of the Chapter’s existence, and it will be a blast I am sure.  Already people are looking into dressing their characters.  Rumor of a potential Regional Game being hosted here in Yokosuka/Tokyo is also being floated sometime in May, as well.  Not too shabby, when you think about it.  From a fledgling Chapter, soon-to-be a Domain, and then probably hosting a Regional game in just a few months…  Again I have to say, simply un-freaking-believable.
But what does the future hold other than game events?  A few things actually…  Community relations ideas are being brainstormed so that those present in the area as well as those deployed elsewhere can participate (send them to me if you have ideas).  Social gathering including lunches and dinners, LAN parties, and even online gatherings for those deployed to participate in (send them to me if you have ideas).   More newsletters, monthly if the support is there, so get thinking both IC and OOC for articles to send-in to Amanda & Ken (send
them to me if you have ideas). And more gaming, of course, so keep an eye on those emails and get to playing!  I think you’ll see a common trend, though, in all of this:  Participation.
I know just as well as all of our members do, that participation isn’t the easiest thing in the world given our being in the military with deployment schedules and whatnot...  One of my jobs as the Chapter Coordinator is to ensure that participation is available for every one of our members, and I put an extra emphasis on myself for this, trust me.  All of you, no matter if you are deployed for just one day out of a given year or if you are in-port for just one day out of a given year, will have the chance to participate in this Chapter both IC and OOC.  All of you will have the chance to earn prestige.  And ultimately all of you will have a chance to have fun.  I do what I can to open-up those opportunities to you…all I ask is that you help me see new ways to open those opportunities and that you seize the opportunities already there.

Keep having fun, keep up the great roleplaying, and I urge those just getting started in our growing Chapter to get motivated and join in the good times…

Congrats and thanks again for making all this a success,
